It’s finally here. With AgilePoint NX v10 we’re releasing one of the most anticipated capabilities in our platform’s AI feature set: the AgilePoint MCP Server. It changes how people work with your business processes. Instead of clicking through screens, they can just ask.
This feature is only available to AgilePoint Dedicated Cloud and OnPremises customers as a licensed add-on.
First, what is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that gives AI assistants a common way to connect to external tools, data and applications. Before MCP, every connection between an AI model and a business system needed its own custom integration. MCP replaces that with one universal protocol, often called “the USB-C port for AI.” Anthropic introduced it, and it quickly gained support across the industry. Major AI providers, developer tools and enterprise software vendors have adopted it, and MCP is fast becoming the default way to turn large language models from chatbots into agents that get real work done.
Why this matters for AgilePoint customers
For years, enterprise software has followed one pattern: one app per use case, each with its own forms, menus and learning curve. Your employees switch between dozens of them every day.
The AgilePoint MCP Server breaks that pattern. It exposes your AgilePoint apps and platform capabilities to LLM-powered clients, so you can build smart apps where natural language replaces the traditional UI. Your existing LLM powered chat interfaces can now handle many use cases that once needed many separate apps.
Here’s what that looks like in practice.
Start workflows by chatting. A user types “I need to submit a travel request for the Chicago conference next month,” and the assistant collects the details and kicks off the right AgilePoint workflow. No searching for the right form, no training required.
Manage tasks in a sentence. Reassign a task to a colleague who’s covering for you, or cancel one that’s no longer needed, just by asking.
Handle platform administration conversationally. Manage users, groups and roles without opening an admin console. Onboarding a new team member becomes a quick chat instead of a checklist of clicks.
The result is faster adoption, less training, fewer context switches, and a user experience that finally fits how people naturally communicate. Your existing AgilePoint investments, including the apps, processes and governance you’ve already built, become available through a modern AI-first interface.
Good to know: supported eForm controls
When you expose an eForms based app through the MCP Server, its eForm fields become parameters the AI assistant can fill in. Controls that use a nested or complex data structure aren’t currently supported as MCP parameters:

- Chart
- Secure Credentials
- Credit Card
- Geolocation
When designing apps for chat-based use, build their inputs from standard, flat controls to get the best experience.
Flexible deployment
The AgilePoint MCP Server fits into your existing infrastructure. You can host it:
- On a web server running on a virtual machine, for teams that prefer traditional hosting, or
- In a Docker container, for teams that want portable, cloud-native deployment that scales easily.
